Outreach Services
Washoe County Library System is committed to growing community partnerships. Let us come to you and share the benefits of libraries and lifelong learning with your students, professionals, and community members. Read below to learn some of the ways our outreach services support our community:
- The Library is a Welcoming Space: Bring your team or students to a branch library for a custom event including hands-on workshops, information presentation, tour, etc.
- The Library Provides Workforce Building: Empower your employees and professional teams with Washoe County Library cards. We’ll come to you and share the resources their card provides to help them succeed!
- The Library Provides School Support: Classroom and school visits are what we do best! We are excited to send our team of early literacy education experts to your students to lead workshops, informational presentations, or even a live story time event in your classroom.
- The Library Provides Lifelong Learning: We are mobile and ready to reach our adult community members where they are. We would love to bring the library to your senior living community, auxiliary group, or other venue that welcomes life-long learners through our outreach and homebound delivery services.
- The Library Celebrates our Diverse Community and Promotes the Library: We are your local parade and community festival superstars! The library loves to join in our local community-based cultural events and celebrate our rich and diverse region.
Washoe County Library Outreach Services team evaluates each outreach request individually and considers several decision-guiding criteria including:
- Washoe County Library System's Mission, Vision, and Values
- Connecting people to library services and supporting the library
- Strategic Plan
- Participating in events that are free and open to the public
- Availability of library staff and other resources at the time of the event
- Minimum three weeks notice is preferred for all outreach requests
