The South Valleys Library celebrated its fifteenth anniversary in May, 2018. The library is located in the South Valleys Regional Sports Complex near the Mount Rose Highway and the foothills of Mount Rose. The bold yellow exterior of the library is complemented by stunning views of the mountains and Reno. Enjoy the scenery as you browse, read, or work on your laptop using our free Wi-Fi. The gallery at the South Valleys Library features art exhibits that rotate regularly throughout the year, and a variety of display cases provide a glimpse into the hobbies and collections of local residents.

Computers with free internet access are available in the Young People’s Library, Teen Zone, and Adult areas. Wireless internet is available throughout the library. Copy machines, scanning, wireless printing, and local fax service are available. There are three study rooms, which may be used on a first come first served basis.

The Teen Zone is designed to provide young adults with a comfortable place to read and work on homework with plenty of new fiction from popular authors to check out. The Teen Zone Activity Cart is stocked with board games and building kits.

Children will be quick to select materials from the Nell J. Redfield Young People's Library, featuring child-sized furniture, expansive views, and friendly staff. The STEAM Spot (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) offers activities to stimulate learning for ages 1–10. Young children will also enjoy using one of four computers loaded with early-literacy games and activities. Children and their parents may explore the adjacent Children’s Garden and patio.

Meeting rooms are available by reservation and are a convenient place to meet both during and after library hours. Available technology includes a PA system for presentations and a large-screen smart HDTV. Please refer to the meeting room page for more information.

The South Valleys Library is truly a destination library where the entire family can find events to attend and materials to check out, or simply enjoy the library with other book lovers in our community.
