Welcome to the North Valleys Library
The North Valleys Library serves the valley communities located on the east side of Peavine Mountain, including Golden Valley, Lemmon Valley, Stead, Red Rock, and Cold Springs. It is also a convenient location for visitors coming from Sun Valley.
Currently located in the North Hills Shopping Center at US 395 and Golden Valley Road, this branch has served its community for over 45 years. The Stead Library and three bookmobiles began operating in the area in 1973. The collection and original staff moved to the current location in June 1988.
The North Valleys Library is a Community Hub
Since 1988 the branch has expanded twice and now encompasses just over 9,000 square feet. With the generous support of community donors, the library was renovated in December 2016 and now offers more modern comforts and services including:
- Seating for collaborative work or individual pursuits with personal devices
- Free Wi-Fi and wireless printing
- An expanded youth library with plenty of space for families to gather
- Community meeting rooms
- A public technology center featuring printing and fax services and internet accessible computers
- A wide variety of print materials, including books and magazines for loan, and a growing collection of materials in Spanish
- DVDs, Blu-ray discs, and music CDs available to check out
