The Sparks Library is a large urban library located in the heart of Sparks. This 23,000 square feet building houses a diverse collection of materials. What we don’t have at this branch, we can get from another branch. With comfortable seating, wireless computer access, public use computers, and specialized collections of auto repair manuals and Rail City books, Sparks Library is your connection to information, people, and programs. Take advantage of programming for all ages by searching our online calendar of events. In our gallery the community can share their art or collections. (See Posting, exhibit and display policy.)

Our meeting room is a convenient place to meet, both during and after library hours. Bright and spacious, available technology includes a ceiling mounted projector with a variety of connections, Apple™ TV, 3D HD television and Blu-ray player, and Wi-Fi. More information.

The Young People’s Library features a STEAM center that provides children and families with a variety of learning activities in a place to connect, gather, and explore. There is also delightful garden courtyard accessible from the Young People’s Library.

Movie Marathons offer three showings of the same movie: traditional (3D when available), en español, and sensory friendly (dim lights instead of dark, lower volume, and recognition that singing, dancing and interacting with the movie will happen; “silence is golden” is suspended during this showing). In addition, sensory story time is also an option for families.

Computer classes are also offered at the Sparks Library.

Professional quality research and information seeking services are provided by friendly library staff, including help with what to read next and how to use our extensive online resources like research databases and downloadable e-books and audiobooks.

Materials from any Washoe County Library branch can be returned to a 24-hour return near the front entrance, so you can return materials when it's convenient for you.
