Gallery Submissions & Guidelines
Exhibit Guidelines
If you would like to have your artwork featured in the Washoe County Library virtual gallery, please contact us. Below are the guidelines for submissions and the information we will need you to provide if we accept your work. Please do not submit artwork prior to your proposed exhibit being accepted.
Images:
- Ten or more images of artwork. (There is no set maximum, but the number of images must be approved prior to submission.)
- One photo of you or a logo that represents you.
- All images must be high resolution (minimum of 1,500 pixels wide).
- .png format is preferred; .jpeg is acceptable.
A Word document including:
- The name of your exhibit.
- A short artist statement or biography, 100-300 words.
- A list of titles of all pieces in exhibit with corresponding file name and medium and any additional info you wish to include in image captions (e.g. date, place, subject).
- Whether you want you images "locked" or "unlocked." Images that are "locked" cannot be opened in a new window from the virtual gallery.
Optionally, you may also specify:
- Any additional noncommercial resources that might compliment the exhibition. If you have any websites, social media accounts, activities, books, or other secondary content that might be of use to the public, we would be happy to include them.
- Any additional labeling requirements beyond our default copyright notice ("Copyright © Artist Name. All rights reserved. Used with permission.")
- Any additional restrictions on image use. By default, the public will be able to view full-size images and the exhibition will stay on the library website in perpetuity.
- To promote the exhibition, the library will also share an image indefinitely on our social media platforms. We may manipulate the image for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, through the application of informational text, Washoe County Library System logo etc.
