Statement from Chair Bob Lucey on the passing of Judge Steven Elliott

Judge Elliott was a founding director of the Washoe County Domestic Violence Task Force

On behalf of my fellow County Commissioners, we would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Judge Steven Elliott, who we learned today passed away. Judge Elliott was elected to the Second Judicial District Court in 1996, where he served until March of 2013.  Judge Elliott also continued to serve as a senior judge for the Second Judicial Court. Prior to that service, Judge Elliott was the Sparks City Attorney, and was a respected public servant to northern Nevada.

On a personal note, Judge Elliott officiated my wedding, and was a mentor and close friend to the Lucey family. We are devastated at this loss for our community.
