In-Person Services, Previously Available at Open Library Locations, are Suspended Until Dec. 1, 2020.
COVID-19 cases in Washoe County are rapidly on the rise and local hospitals are near capacity. On November 10, 2020, Governor Sisolak implemented a "Stay at Home 2.0" protocol, effective immediately. Additionally, County Manager Eric Brown issued a work from home protocol for Washoe County employees. In response, Washoe County Library System is temporarily suspending Grab-and-Go and Drive-Up hold pick-up services until December 1, 2020.
Please visit the Washoe County Library website for the most current information. The Washoe County Library System encourages the community to sign up for the Library newsletter and follow the Library on Facebook and Twitter for additional updates.
Book Drops will remain open during this period, and no fines will be assessed on overdue items. Reference and informational questions are also available via email or phone call. The Friends of Washoe County Library book sale scheduled to run from November 13, 2020 to November 22, 2020, has also been cancelled.
Although physical library materials are not available while hold pick-up is temporarily suspended, the library's digital collection is always available. In addition to virtual events, resources include audiobooks, ebooks, magazines, and access to the New York Times and Lynda.com and more are available. Please visit www.washoecountylibrary.us for information about virtual events and resources, or to sign up for an instant digital library card, and more.
