Watch livestream video of ballot-counting and elections activity
The Washoe County Registrar of Voters will begin to count mail-in and early-voting ballots today at 1 p.m. As a service to the public, a livestream of the ballot-counting area will be available on the county’s YouTube site: www.youtube.com/washoecountytv.
The livestream will run from 1-5 p.m. today, and from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. every day through Friday, October 30, which is the final day of Early Voting, . There will be a brief delay in the livestream on Tuesday, October 27, due to the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. The ballot livestream will resume as soon as the meeting concludes.
The registrar’s office will be closed on Sunday, and will resume counting ballots on Monday, November 2. An updated schedule for the livestream will be made available Monday morning.
Washoe County first began to livestream elections during the 2018 Primary Election, and provides this as a public service to reinforce transparency and engagement in the election process.
Voter turnout, in the form of mail-in ballots and in-person voting, has been strong, and vote centers are expected to be busy during the final few days of Early Voting. Voters should use the county’s Wait Times App, which provides real-time estimates on how long a voter can expect to wait in line to vote.
