Virtual Town Hall Series Begins April 10
The COVID-19 Regional Information Center is busy assembling a panel of experts to take your top COVID-19 questions in our first Virtual Town Hall series on Friday, April 10 at 1 p.m. With guests from our local hospitals, REMSA and the Washoe County Medical Society, plus local elected official, you do not want to miss this series, kicking off live this Friday on YouTube. How Do I Get Tested for COVID-19 – Video Resource
Residents can learn more about whether they should request a COVID-19 test by viewing the following video resource. The Washoe County Health Department will work with patients to identify next steps if you test positive for COVID-19, as well as those that test negative. Watch this video to learn about when you should be tested for COVID-19. If you need a risk assessment, call 775-328-2427 or fill one out online here.
Helping to Prevent Suicide
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suicides across the nation on the rise. Additionally, crisis lines are seeing a large increase in call volume. The Nevada Department of Veterans Services and the PSYCHARMOR Institute have put together a 25-minute training called S.A.V.E.
Nevada Mayors are challenging all community members, city and county leaders, organizations, businesses and agencies to be a part of the solution to prevent suicide by taking this important training. https://psycharmor.org/courses/s-a-v-e/.

Virtual Celebration for Health Care and First Responders
Let's all join together - virtually - to celebrate our health care workers and first responders who are fighting to save lives! This Friday, April 10, at noon, go outside of your office or home, take your phone, and join your fellow Nevadans in clapping and thanking those on the front lines. You can video and post it later for all to see, or go live on Facebook if you are tech-savvy. Remember to stay 6 feet away if you are with others! Reno/Sparks, Nev. April 7, 2020 – The Regional Information Center is reporting the 5th COVID-19-related death in Washoe County. The deceased was a woman in her 50s.
The Washoe County Health District is working to determine if there were underlying health conditions. No further details will be released at this time.

- Active cases: 274
- Current hospitalizations: 28
