Washoe County staff releases high-level recommendations for short-term rentals

County Commissioners expected to review staff’s recommendations mid-November

Reno, Nev. October 21, 2019. Washoe County officials are in the process of establishing standards for short-term rentals (STRs) in unincorporated Washoe County, including Incline Village/Crystal Bay.

After several months of research, public engagement, and analysis, Washoe County staff has created a series of STR recommendations for consideration by the Board of County Commissioners. The Board is tentatively scheduled to consider these recommendations at their Nov. 12, 2019 meeting.

The Board will be asked to either confirm the proposals or provide additional policy direction prior to staff releasing specific code language for further review. Additional information, including highlights of the recommendations, is available at www.washoecounty.us/str.
