Appointments serve to represent Washoe County and Nevada on key issues
Reno, Nev. Oct. 7, 2019. The National Association of Counties (NACo) has recently made several key Presidential Appointments, including Washoe County Commission Vice-Chair, Bob Lucey, to serve on the National Transportation Steering Committee in the role of Subcommittee Vice Chair.
“It is truly an honor to be nominated and selected by NACo to represent key transportation issues both here in Nevada and throughout the western United States,” said Lucey. “It is my goal to keep Nevada issues at the forefront and work to gain support in the form of infrastructure needs, bills, and federal policy direction.”
Additionally, at the recent Nevada County Commissioners’ Association (Nevada NACO) annual state conference at the Nugget in Sparks, it was affirmed that Vice-Chair Bob Lucey is the current 2nd Vice President and will become Vice President of Nevada NACO in January 2020. After his appointment as Vice President, he will become President elect in 2021 and President of Nevada NACO in 2022.
“Being elected to Nevada NACO by my peers, other elected officials here in Nevada, is an exciting position as we look to major events in the near future including a census, presidential election, and another legislative session” remarked Lucey. “My goal in serving in the Vice President capacity and in 2022 as President, is to better serve and address issues for Washoe County and the seventeen counties in Nevada.”
