WCDA Secures Guilty Verdicts in Two Jury Trials

Cases involve charges of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Violence

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office secured guilty verdicts in two unrelated trials.

Lamont Bolder, age 41 of Reno was arrested in August of 2021 in connection to a robbery with a deadly weapon. Reno Police Department responded to a report of an incident on Brinkby Ave., where the victim told police a man, later identified as Lamont Bolder, and an unidentified woman robbed him at gunpoint in his apartment. While investigating, officers determined the victim had met Bolder outside a local pawn shop, where Bolder offered to purchase some items from the victim. Bolder and the unidentified woman then drove the victim to his home, where Bolder then robbed the victim at gunpoint. Deputy District Attorney Stephan Hollandsworth explained how members of the Regional Gang Unit arrested Bolder two days later, when they spotted him in his car with the victim’s items in it, as well as the gun the victim had described. Bolder was found guilty of all counts: Robbery with the Use of a Deadly Weapon, Residential Burglary While in Possession of a Firearm, Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. A sentencing date is slated of June 1 of this year. The Honorable Judge Drakulich presided over the trial and imposed the sentence. 

Brock McCann, age 47 from Reno was arrested in August of 2022, after Sparks Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a report of a battery with a deadly weapon near the Sparks Marina. A witness told SPD that they observed McCann shove a woman to the ground and then hit her in the head with a pole. The investigation revealed the victim was McCann’s girlfriend. At trial, Deputy District Attorney Jocelyn Ostomel presented the jury with evidence that this was McCann’s fourth offense for domestic battery against the same victim. McCann was found guilty of Battery which Constitutes Domestic Violence with Prior Felony Conviction. Sentencing is set for early June. The Honorable Judge Breslow presided over the trial and imposed the sentence.
