WCDA and Regional HEAT Team Secure Lengthy Prison Sentence Against Offender Convicted of Soliciting Children

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has announced that Curtis Lee Milke, age 62, from Washoe County, has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of sex offenses. Milke pled guilty in January to one count of Lure or Attempt to Lure a Child with Use of Computer Technology to Engage in Sexual Conduct, one count of Soliciting a Child for Prostitution, and one count of Abuse or Neglect of a Child Involving Sexual Exploitation. He was sentenced last week to an aggregate maximum term of 16 years in prison for all three charges by Washoe County District Court Judge David Hardy. Based on the sentence received, Milke’s parole eligibility is set to begin after having served 6 years, 3 months in prison.

Milke’s conduct was investigated as part of a sex trafficking sting operation conducted by the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT). His arrest resulted from solicitations for sex of 3 undercover’s posing as a 13-year-old, 15-year-old, and 16-year-old children, as well as a real victim aged 17 years old. During several online conversations, Milke offered to pay for sex and to send videos of himself masturbating.

At sentencing, DDA Cameron argued that the 16-year aggregate maximum sentence was necessary and appropriate in order to both protect the community and punish the defendant for his significant and unrelenting conduct that was directed at numerous juvenile females in the community.
