Health District looking for applicants for new Excellence in Food Safety Awards

Winners will get public recognition; deadline to apply is Dec. 31

The Washoe County Health District (WCHD) is excited to announce the inaugural Excellence in Food Safety Awards. The Awards recognize Washoe County food facilities that exceed established regulations and go above and beyond to demonstrate their commitment to long-term food safety.

The Excellence in Food Safety Awards will be given annually starting this January. Any food facility that meets the program’s criteria is invited to participate as the first awards. The deadline to submit an application is Dec. 31. Complete the form online on this page. There is no limit to the number of food establishments that can receive this annual award.

To acknowledge the achievement of maintaining the highest standards of food safety in our community, recipients of the award will receive the following: an award certificate, an Excellence in Food Safety Award logo window cling for the year of the award, a digital logo to display on webpages and social media, and recognition on the WCHD website and the Washoe Eats smartphone app.
