Data does not show where people contracted the virus; Update on COVID-19 antibody project
Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is releasing data related to businesses where people with COVID-19 visited while infectious as a reminder that COVID-19 transmission in Washoe County remains high.
The data below does not indicate where a person contracted COVID-19 and should not be interpreted as such.
Supporting local business is important but it must be done safely by wearing a face covering, practicing social distancing and frequent handwashing.
Download the data here. It is broken down into the following categories and data collection goes back to June:
- Workplaces Cases Attended Before Exposure
- Workplaces Cases Attended After Exposure
- Places Cases Visited Before Exposure
- Places Cases Visited After Exposure
COVID-19 antibody (seroprevalence) project update – residents who were invited to participate asked to respond to WCHD
The Washoe County Health District is asking residents who were selected at random to participate in the COVID-19 antibody (seroprevalence) project to respond to the letter and sign up to get the COVID-19 antibody test.
Seventy-one people conducted an antibody test on Saturday at the Health District. Roughly 150 residents have signed up for the project – 290 are needed to make it scientifically relevant. Letters were sent to more than 2,000 residences two weeks ago and follow-up letters were mailed last week. Instructions on how to participate are detailed on the letter.
The goal of the study is to determine the prevalence of COVID-19 in our community. The testing is free. Only residents who received the letter can participate and those who respond will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Visa gift card.
See more about phase 2 of the COVID-19 seroprevalence study here.
