Washoe County is Seeking Public Input on Potential Development Code Amendments Relating to:

Section 110.406.23 Commercial and Industrial Building Placement Standards.  Building placement standards for regulatory zoned industrial parcels may be modified with the approval of a special use permit or tentative subdivision map.

And

Section 110.324.50 Wireless Communication/Cellular Facilities Placement Standards.   Establishing exemptions from special use permit requirements for the placement of new monopole and lattice towers for the purposes of providing emergency communication facilities by governmental agencies under certain situations.

What:           Public Workshop about proposed amendments to Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code), Article 406, Building Placement Standards and Article 324, Communication Facilities.

When:          Thursday December 12, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Where:         Human Resources Conference Room (Room A210); Second Floor, at the top of the stairs in  Building A, Washoe County Administration Complex, 1001 East Ninth Street, Reno

The Washoe County Community Services Department’s Planning and Building Division is hosting a public workshop regarding proposed amendments to Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code) relating to:

        Article 406.23 – Commercial and Industrial Building Placement Standards, to add new section to Article 406, Building Placement Standards, which would allow for modification of the building placement standards requirements (i.e. setbacks, minimum lot size, or minimum lot width) for commercial and industrial regulatory zone parcels, with the approval of a special use permit or tentative subdivision map.         Article 324.50 - Wireless Communication/Cellular Facilities Placement Standards, to add new language in Section 110.324.50, in order to establish exemptions from requiring a special use permit for the placement of new monopole and lattice towers that will be established for the purpose of providing emergency communication facilities by governmental agencies under certain situations.  Click HERE to access the Draft Ordinance.

Washoe County staff will be available to discuss the proposed amendments from 5:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. Following public input, the amendments will be discussed by the Washoe County Planning Commission. The public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the January 7, 2020 Planning Commission meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
