Washoe County serving up treats for local kids
Trick-or-treating events at Human Services Agency and County Complex
Reno, Nev. October 29, 2019. The Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) is hosting a trick-or-treat event for foster and adoptive children and their families Wednesday, October 30 at the HSA building, which is located at 350 South Center St. HSA staff will dress up, decorate the halls of the six story building in varying themes and invite children, parents, relatives and foster families to trick-or-treat together. Halloween candy and prizes are handed out to children of all ages.
Additionally, on Thursday, October 31 at the Washoe County Complex, multiple Washoe County departments will be giving out treats to students at Glenn Duncan S.T.E.M Academy, celebrating a long-standing partnership between Washoe County and the elementary school as part of the Education Alliance Partner in Education program.
Two Media Availabilities:
- Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 at Washoe County Human Services Agency at 350 South Center St. *Note: This event is not open to the public. However, media is welcome to get video and interview staff before trick or treating begins between 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 at the County Complex, 1001 E. Ninth Street beginning at 10 a.m. Media welcome to get footage of students trick-or-treating throughout the County Complex.
Who: Washoe County: Human Services Agency & over a dozen departments in the County Complex.
What: Trick-or-Treating for foster & adoptive families and Glenn Duncan S.T.E.M Academy students.
