Preview Washoe ArTrail and first public art piece
Reno, Nev. July 10, 2019. As part of the Artown 2019 calendar of events, Washoe County will host the “ArTrail Stories in the Moonlight” event at Crystal Peak Park next Tuesday, July 16 from 7-9 p.m.
The event is designed to welcome the community to learn more about the first piece of new public art as part of the Washoe ArTrail, a public participatory experience highlighting the cultural, historic and artistic landmarks along a 200-mile trail. The event will feature the team of four artists, ROAM Collective, who have been selected to create the new art.
“ArTrail Stories in the Moonlight” event:
When: Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: Washoe County Crystal Peak Park, 561 Crystal Park Road, Verdi. Due to the outdoor location, blankets, low-back chairs, bug spray and flashlights are recommended.
What: “ArTrail Stories in the Moonlight” event offers exclusive insight on the inspiration for the new art piece from the artists, more information about the Washoe ArTrail and stories from the community.
Who: ROAM Collective artist group, stories from residents in the community, Washoe County Park Rangers and staff.
