Lazy 5 Regional Park staff welcomes community
Reno, Nev. April, 9 2019. Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space staff is proud to welcome the community to the Grand Opening of “The Hive”, the newest public recreational facility in Washoe County, on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
“We’re so excited to repurpose this structure to create a space the community can enjoy,” says Bryan Harrower, Washoe County District Park Manager. Creatively repurposed from a sand and salt storage dome to a the 5000 sq. ft. recreational facility, “The Hive” will be available for open gym use as well as private use and event rentals beginning April 13.
WHAT: “The Hive” recreational facility Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting featuring live music, pickleball, skateboard and karate demos, a public basketball shootout game, food truck (available for purchase), mobile pub (available for purchase), kids craft & facepainting station, live mural painting, and more.
WHEN: Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
WHERE: Lazy 5 Regional Park at 7100 Pyramid Highway, Sparks, NV 89436, adjacent to the Spanish Springs Skate Park.
DETAILS: The event is free and open to the public. Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space would like to acknowledge the help of local donors and supporters including Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors, KTMB, Kelly-Moore Paints, Reno Paint Mart, The Home Depot, and Vega Asphalt Paving, who helped make this project possible.
