Non-competitive triathlon to be held at Bowers Mansion Pool on August 11

Reno, Nev. Aug. 1, 2018. Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space is proud to announce the Bowers Mansion Pool 2nd annual Kids Triathlon on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

The Bowers Mansion Pool Kids Triathlon is a great introduction into the world of triathlon races for children of all ages. The triathlon will feature swimming in the Historic Bowers Mansion Pool, and biking and running on a closed course within the park. Each age group has specific distances appropriate for their ages.

The Bowers Mansion Pool Kids Triathlon is the finale of the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society’s 2018 Northern Nevada Triathlon Series, which featured events hosted by Carson City Parks and Recreation and Carson Tigersharks swim team, and the Cities of Reno and Sparks Parks and Recreation Departments.

Cost: $35 per participant. Registration is open and can be processed online or at Bowers Mansion Pool.

Safety and Race Rules: Participants must provide their own swimsuit, goggles, towels, running shoes, bicycle, and bike helmet. Participants will not be allowed to compete without proper attire or safety equipment. Helmets are required to be worn during the entire biking segment. Only children aged 6 years and younger may have an adult in the water for assistance during the swim segment. All children 7 years and older need to be able to swim across the pool unassisted. Parents/Guardians must be on-site during the entire event.
