Community invited to explore parks and trails with Washoe County staff 

Washoe County Manager, John Slaughter, invites the community to explore nature through all the scenic parks and trails Washoe County has to offer through “Walk with Washoe”.

“We are in our third year and it’s been great to see the community come out to join us again and again,” says Washoe County Manager, John Slaughter.  “This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, get some exercise and experience Washoe County’s wonderful park and trail system.”

When: Complete “Walk with Washoe” Schedule:

  • June 19 @ 6:30 p.m., Davis Creek Regional Park 1.7 miles

           Meet at: The parking lot across from the Ranger Office

  • July 17 @ 6:30 p.m., Regional Archery Facility 1.5 miles

           Meet at: Main parking lot

  • **Special Moonlight Walk** July 26 @ 7:30 p.m., at Crystal Peak Park

           Meet at: Main parking lot

  • August 21 @ 6:30 p.m., Galena Creek Regional Park 2 miles

           Meet at: Bearmat Group Picnic Area

  • September 18 @ 5:30 p.m., Lockwood Trailhead  Loop 1.2 miles

           Meet at: Parking lot near the restrooms

  • October 2 @ 5:30 p.m., Ballardini Trailhead - NEW extension 2 miles

           Meet at: Ballardini Trailhead parking lot

This year’s popular program will also offer a new Moonlight Walk to enjoy the beauty of nature at night for the more adventurous crowd.
