Free Legal Assistance offered at the Second Judicial District Court on October 25

Reno, Nev. Oct. 18, 2017.  The Washoe County Law Library, in partnership with Nevada Legal Services and the State of Nevada Department of Welfare and Social Services, is hosting Law Fair 2017 to celebrate Pro Bono Week. Pro Bono Week is celebrated throughout the United States and encourages a collaborative approach to expanding local efforts to provide resources and access to justice for all. 

Law Fair 2017 will offer participants an opportunity for free legal assistance from a licensed Nevada attorney and specialists in specific areas of law including family law, wills and probate, bankruptcy/consumer protection, immigration and landlord/tenant claims.

To kick off Law Fair 2017, judicial officer Master Lance White, will outline the process for protection orders in the Family Division. The Department of Welfare and Social Services will also be available to help people sign up for and access benefits.

Who:  Washoe County Law Library, Nevada Legal Services, Department of Welfare and Social Services.

What:  Law Fair 2017, a local collaboration to provide free legal services to the community in celebration of Pro Bono Week.

When:  Wednesday, October 25, 2017

                Kick-off event: The Protection Order Process, by Master Lance White, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

                Main Event: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
