Washoe County wants to improve the permitting process
Join us for a public workshop to discuss a new review process for permits
About:
We realize that when reviewing a building permit, there may be a need to vary the development standards established in code - less than 10 percent difference of the code standard. Instead of having the building plans go back into the review process all over again, Washoe County is proposing a development code change that would allow the request to be approved by the Division Director, depending if the changes are minor (less than 10% of the standard).
Code change:
1) within Article 804, (Variances), to allow minor deviations of standards within chapter 110 of the Washoe County Code for deviations less than 10 percent of the applicable Development Code Standard and,
2) within Article 808 (Administrative Permits), Section 110.808.40(b) to increase the number of days from acceptance of a complete application for an Administrative Permit to the public hearing on the application from fifty (50) to sixty-five (65). This change will conform to the 65 days established in State Law and elsewhere in Chapter 110 for other planning permits.
Workshop:
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 and Washoe County staff will be available to discuss the proposed amendments until 6 p.m.
