Free Family Health Festival slated for February 29

Activity will provide several health services at no charge
RENO, Nev. – Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities (TMHC) and several other local partners will host a Family Health Festival bringing free and low-cost services to those in need. This festival, which is the third of its kind, will also feature a free Teen Health Clinic as part of the event.
WHO: Catholic Charities, Community Health Alliance, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Immunize Nevada, Reno Fire and Police Departments, Renown Health, REMSA, Saint Mary’s Medical Group, Washoe County Health District, WIC Nutritionist, and more
WHAT: The Family Health Festival is free to all participants and will include healthy cooking tips, Test Your Health Know-How, a book drive and a variety of free services. Free services will include flu vaccinations, dental fluoride treatments, the Food Bank’s mobile pantry, health screenings for kids and adults, DACA & Immigration support, job application and resume help, SNAP assistance, and Head Start/affordable day care registration. The Family Health Festival is part of TMHC’s continued efforts to work with local organizations to improve community health by focusing on food access, employment, affordable housing, and healthcare access and education.
