Saturday's Matchup with San Jose State will provide fans a chance to support the cause.
RENO, Nevada. Nov. 10, 2015 – The Nevada football team takes on San Jose State on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Mackay Stadium. It marks this year’s annual Adoption Awareness game and provides fans a chance to join coach Brian Polian and his wife Laura in supporting and celebrating National Adoption Month.
November is National Adoption Month, and as adoptive parents themselves, the Polians are inviting everyone to support the Washoe County Social Services Have a Heart Foster Care and Adoption Program and the Reno Rodeo Denim Drive at Saturday's game. Fans who donate new jeans, socks, underwear or cash will receive a white rally towel for the game against the Spartans. The Polians are getting the drive started with a donation of 100 pairs of kid’s jeans.
Great Clips will also be at Mackay Stadium giving charity cuts. For a donation to the Have a Heart campaign, Great Clips will provide haircuts and Wolf Pack colored hair care products. Haircuts will be available at 11 a.m. when the gates open through halftime near the Kids Zone, located just inside gate 5.
The Reno Rodeo Denim Drive collects new jeans, socks, underwear and monetary donations for children who have survived abuse and neglect and have been moved into an emergency shelter or foster care. For those 800 children in Washoe County, the simple donation of clothes, toys or even just time can make a big difference.
Tickets can be purchased for the 1 p.m. game against San Jose State on Nov. 14 by visiting nevadawolfpack.com or calling 775-348-PACK.
