Washoe County District Attorney Announces Sentencing of Fallon Man for Disturbing a Meeting to 180 Days in Jail, Suspended

October 3, 2015
Reno, Nevada

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has announced the sentencing of Ross Tisevich to 180 days in the Washoe County Jail for his disturbance of the September 21st joint meeting of the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners and the Reno and Sparks City Councils.  The sentence was suspended for two years, provided he complies with several additional penalties and conditions.

Ross Tisevich, 28 (DOB 3/2/87), from Fallon was sentenced today in Reno Justice Court by Judge Scott Pearson to 180 days in jail, which was suspended for two years on the condition that he first serve 30 days of that sentence in jail, with credit for 11 days already served at the time of arrest.  Tisevich was also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service, pay $250 dollars in restitution, complete a mental health evaluation and participate in the courts compliance program (CCP), which includes regular court check ins.  Additionally, Tisevich was ordered to have no contact with the city councils and the Board of County Commissioners throughout the duration of his sentence. When sentencing Tisevich, Judge Pearson included an additional 40 hours of community service in addition to the 80 hours this office had advocated for.  This provided that 40 hours be served for each community represented at the meeting where the incident took place, which included Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.

Tisevich previously pled guilty on September 30, 2015 to one count of Disturbing a Meeting, a misdemeanor.  The case began on September 21, 2015 when Tisevich was arrested for attempting to drink purported Round-Up weed killer at the concurrent meeting of the Reno and Sparks City Councils and Washoe County Commission.
