First meetings slated for September 29 and 30

The Washoe County Health District is planning several workshops and meetings to discuss proposed changes to its Fee Schedule.  According to health officials, staff will provide information at the meetings on how the proposed fee changes were determined and give those affected by these fees additional opportunity for input.  Feedback collected at these workshops will be used to develop recommendations for the District Board of Health.

Following the workshops, the District Board of Health will hold a Public Hearing where it may take action on the proposed fees.  The public will have the opportunity to speak at all of these meetings. The first two Public Workshops for revisions to the Washoe County Health District Environmental Health Services Division and Air Quality Management Division Fee Schedule are scheduled for 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, and 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015. All meetings will be held in the South Auditorium of the Washoe County Health District at 1001 E. Ninth Street, Bldg. B, in Reno, Nevada.

“The District Board of Health was disinclined to increase fees during the financial crisis,” said Washoe County Health District Communications Manager Phil Ulibarri. “But, the Board recognizes the fact that businesses and individuals must bear the proper portion of costs associated with the services we provide to them. These are changes that have been long overdue.”
