View this summer’s featured exhibit and stay for Evenings on the Ranch every Wednesday.
Reno, Nevada. June 18, 2015. “Evenings on the Ranch” is back at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in July. Featured performers for the five Wednesday programs include Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association on July 1, Sierra Silverstrings and Silver State Young Chautauqua on July 8, Bluegrass group Grassland Road on July 15, Cowboy poet and entertainer Larry Maurice on July 22, and Tuned Up and Twisted Cowboy Poetry with Tony Argento on July 29. Bring out the entire family! Bartley’s historic ranch buildings will be open for display at 6 p.m., followed by the programs at 7 p.m., every Wednesday on Bartley’s Plaza pavilion, located next to the Western Heritage Interpretive Center. The performances are free. However, a $3 donation per person is encouraged. Icecycle Creamery will be on hand with tasty treats available.
As well as the great family entertainment, the Western Heritage Interpretive Center at Bartley Ranch Regional Park will display the Parks: Past/Present Perspectives exhibition July1-31. Created by the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation, this exhibition consists of 20 historical photographs culled from personal, public, and private collections, which have been recreated to show the effects time, the environment, and policy decisions have had on our parks. The exhibit is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.with extended hours on Wednesdays until 8 p.m. Admission is free. Washoe County is proud to be part of the 20th Anniversary of Artown and the July 2015 Festival. The month-long summer arts festival features approximately 500 events produced by more than 100 cultural organizations and businesses in locations citywide. Artown receives major funding from the City of Reno, and is sponsored by U.S. Bank, NV Energy, IGT, Grand Sierra Resort, University of Nevada, Reno, Wild River Grille, Washoe County, Reno Tahoe USA, Fox 11 News 4 and My21TV, Reno Media Group, RGJ Media, KUNR Public Radio and KNPB Public Television. Additional support is received from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
