Sentences for each of the counts were specified to run concurrently or consecutively for a minimum of 90 years before parole eligibility. Herndon was previously convicted on March 9, 2015 after a seven day jury trial in District Court. The jury found Herndon guilty of eight counts of Sexual Assault on a Child Under the Age of 14 and two counts of Lewdness with a Child Under the Age of 14. The case involved three victims, who reported the abuse to authorities in July of 2013. One victim reported the abuse started as early as 2000.

The District Attorney’s Office worked closely with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons Unit during the prosecution of this case.
