Board proclaims April 19-25, 2015 Volunteer Week in Washoe County: Item 7.A.12. The Board of County Commissioners proclaimed April 19-25, 2015, as Volunteer Week in Washoe County. Volunteer Week gives the County an opportunity to express appreciation to the thousands of volunteers who have supported Washoe County and renew the County’s call for citizens to commit to volunteer efforts that put their expertise and interests to work for the benefit of our community. The Board also proclaimed the following:
- April 19-25, 2015 as Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week;
- April 19-25, 2015 as Public Safety Telecommunications Week;
- April 2015 as National Donate Life Month;
- May 1,2015 as Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 Day;
- May 6, 2015 as Washoe County Law Library Day;
- May 7,2015 as National Day of Prayer;
- May 10-16, 2015 as Women’s Lung Health Week;
- May 2015 as National Bike Month and Bicycle Safety Month, and May 9-15,2015 as Bike Week in Washoe County;
- May 2015 as Older Americans Month;
- May 2015 as Nevada Wildfire Awareness Month; and,
- May 2015 as University of Nevada Cooperative Extension Month.
