Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Some might say she doesn't look a day over 29!

May 11, 2016. Reno, NV. Whether you remember the day she opened or you have never stepped foot inside, we invite you to celebrate with us on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Through major funding from the Max C. Fleischmann Foundation and the creative mind of architect, Hewitt C. Wells, the Downtown Reno Library opened to the public on May 13, 1966 and has been a main attraction ever since.

We invite the community to celebrate her 50 years with a party on Sunday, May 15.  The party will include programs, displays of historical photographs and a cake, of course. 

Where:  Downtown Reno Library, 301 S. Center Street

When:  Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.                        

  • 12:30 – 2 p.m.  Cake and beverages on the 4th Level
  • 1 p.m.  Book Club on the Garden Level
  • 2 p.m.  Paws 2 Read on the Main Floor Pod
  • 2 p.m.  Brüka’s Theatre for Children presents “Snow White and Rose Red” in the Auditorium

Library staff will be available for media interviews from 12:30 - 2 p.m.
